Saturday March 17, 2012: St. Patrick's Day Gold Rush, 9AM-3PM
Come down to our fishing preserve and catch your lucky St. Patty's Day golden rainbows! Prizes will be awarded for each golden rainbow caught. Special prizes will be awarded to the largest and smallest golden rainbows caught throughout the day.
Saturday April 21, 2012: Young Anglers Rodeo, 9AM-2PM
Open to anglers ages 0-15. Come down and practice your angling skills as you compete against other kids in your age group for various prizes. Prizes awarded hourly to the largest rainbow trout caught in each age group. A special prize will be awarded to the child who catches the most rainbow trout during the Rodeo. Fish cleaning and fillet demonstrations will be conducted each hour. Free Admission for all who attend. Age Groups: 0-5 years, 6-10 years, and 11-15 years.
Saturday May 12, 2012: Learn to Fly Fish Day, 9AM-3PM
Come down and join us for a day or learning at our fishing preserve. Learn fly fishing and fly tying techniques from experienced anglers. Learn how to keep your catch safe and delicious, as well as how to clean and fillet trout from our well trained staff. Prizes awarded for the biggest rainbow trout and the most rainbow trout caught with a fly rod. Free admission for all who attend. Sponsored by Bass Pro Shops and Susquehannock Fly Fishers, Inc.
Sunday June 17, 2012: Father's Day Trout Outing, 9AM-3PM
It's Father's Day at Limestone Springs. Bring your dads down for a day of fishing. Free Admission for all who attend. Each dad that comes in with their family will get one free rainbow trout caught at our preserve. The dad who catches the biggest rainbow trout of the day will get a special prize. Our staff will also be giving fish cleaning and fillet demonstrations throughout the day.
Saturday July 14, 2012: Fish Fry Picnic, 10AM-2PM
Our preserve will host a fish fry! Come down and enjoy a delicious picnic whipped up by a local eatery. Free Admission for all who attend. Come down and learn how to keep your catch safe and delicious. Fish cleaning and fillet demonstrations performed throughout the day by our staff. Proceeds from picnic will benefit Healing Waters charity.
Saturday August 18, 2012: Back to School Fishing Rodeo, 9AM-2PM
Open to anglers ages 0-15. End your summer at our fishing preserve competing against other kids in your age group for various prizes. Prizes awarded hourly to the largest rainbow trout caught in each age group. A special prize will be awarded to the child who catches the most rainbow trout during the Rodeo. Fish cleaning and fillet demonstrations will be conducted each hour. Free Admission for all who attend. Age groups: 0-5 years, 6-10 years, 11-15 years.
Sunday September 9, 2012: Grandparent's Day Trout Outing, 9AM-3PM
It's Grandparent's Day at Limestone Springs. Bring your grandparents down for a day of fishing. Free Admission for all who attend. Each grandparent that comes in with their family will get one free rainbow trout caught at our preserve. The grandparent who catches the biggest rainbow trout of the day will get a special prize. Our staff will also be giving fish cleaning and fillet demonstrations throughout the day.
Saturday October 13, 2012: Primitive Fishing Rodeo, 9AM-2PM
Open to anglers of all ages. Come in and try your luck fishing with the most basic and primitive fishing gear. Each person participating in the event will be given the basic gear needed to compete in the rodeo, which includes: one bamboo rod, fishing line, and 3 hooks. It is up to the participants to use anything they can find around our preserve to construct their rod setup. Bait allowed: worms, corn and powerbait. No flies, lures or spinners allowed. Prizes awarded each hour for the biggest rainbow trout caught. Special prizes awarded to the person who catches the most rainbow trout during the rodeo, as well as for the most creative set up. Free Admission for all who attend. Fish cleaning and fillet demonstrations performed hourly by our well trained staff.
Scouts for Trout
3rd Sunday of each month, April - October
- Free Admission for all scouts in uniform and their families.
- Each scout in uniform will get one free trout caught at our preserve.
Weekday Specials
Every Week March 26 – October 26
Tuesdays: Free Cleaning Tuesdays
- All veterans that show ID get their catch cleaned to their liking for free!
Wednesdays: Grandkids Day
- Each kid under the age of 15 that comes in with their grandparents on this day will get one trout for free!
Thursdays: Trophy Catch Day
- Anyone who catches a rainbow trout that weighs over 2 lbs will get a 2 oz. piece of our famous smoked trout for free!
Fridays: Senior Citizens Friday
- Any senior over the age of 55 years get their catch cleaned to their liking for free!
